In This Episode:
Tyler and Mike get a perspective that is different than any other perspective of the other 80+ episodes of the RMIT podcast. All of the guests on RMIT have some on the show and shared amazing stories of their rich lives. Stories of love, faith, and overcoming challenges. This week, the guys sit down with Carlos De Osambela and he lets us in on his life as he is in the middle of the struggle. Carlos gives the guys a front-row view of his “reset” as he picks up the pieces and finds the strength to continue on. He teaches lessons learned the hard way about the danger of complacency, chasing what doesn’t matter, and regret. The result is a masterclass on worth, identity, turning outward, and grit. The guys, along with RMIT listeners, will never forget the time they spent with Carlos D Osambela.

Show Notes

Who Said It…

  • “We become so caught up in the busyness of our lives. Were we to step back, however, and take a good look at what we’re doing, we may find that we have immersed ourselves in the ‘thick of thin things.’ In other words, too often we spend most of our time taking care of the things which do not really matter much at all in the grand scheme of things, neglecting those more important causes” -Thomas S. Monson in “What Have I Done for Someone Today?” from Oct. 2009 General Conference).
  • “Good is the enemy of great. Good is the mortal enemy of great. If you think about it, it’s one of the main reasons why we have so few things that become truly great. We by and large do not have great schools. Why? Because we have good schools. We by and large do not have great government because we have good government, and it works pretty well. Most companies will never become great because most are really quite good. Therein lies much of their main problem.
The truth be told, in this great society of abundance that is the modern world,  most people will wake up at the end of their lives and need to look back and accept the horrifying truth that they did not have a great life because it is oh so easy to settle for a good life. Good is the enemy of great (Voltaire).” -Jim Collins
  • “We are kept from our goal not by obstacles, but by a clear path to a lesser goal.” -Robert Brault
